During law school, Scott served as Vice Justice of the school’s chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, a professional law fraternity dedicated to the service of the student, the school and the legal profession. He also served as a Student Mentor for first-year students.Prior to law school, Scott obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Government & Politics, with a concentration in History, from the University of Maryland - College Park where he developed his interest in the law.  Scott is a founding member of the Arlington Bar Association Young Lawyers Section where he served as a board member and as the Liaison to the Fairfax Bar Association Young Lawyers Section for three years. Jon Sasaki was born and raised in southwest Idaho, where he spent his summers working on a farm. He received his undergraduate degree in Business at Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. After working 13 years as a U.S. customs broker, Jon went back to school and received his Juris Doctor from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, OR, where he was a member of the school's Moot Court Client Counseling regional team. In his free time, Jon enjoys watching soccer, playing basketball, and fishing.

In addition to being an attorney, I have a background in education and have also earned my Masters of Elementary Education.  I use my legal expertise and my background in education to help families navigate the education system and advocate for their child’s academic success. Law is a second career for me, having already achieved a fulfilling business career in telecommunications.  I graduated from the Seattle University School of Law in 2005, Summa Cum Laude, graduating tenth out of 341 students.  I was an editor on the law review and a published author.. My favorite cases are pre/postnuptial and co-habitation agreements.  Putting together an agreement like this allows a family to have the hard conversations as a team, rather than as adversaries.  I've found a well prepared family unit doesn't require my services again.. In every case, whether agreed or extremely adversarial, I do my best to see that my client and their family remains as emotionally, psychologically, and financially intact as possible.. In my free time, I'm an avid baker, care-taker for abused and abandonded dogs, and, despite a black-thumb, I hope to start growing herbs. I enjoy spending weekends hosting game nights or hiking with my partner and our dog.

Since being admitted to the practice of law in 2007, I have been a trial attorney.. I spent my first five years as an assistant public defender in Bradenton, FL, where I more or less lived in a court room. I acted as trial counsel, a division chief, appellate counsel, and a liason to diversionary programs. I had the fortune of trying many jury trials, including mandatory life cases.. In 2012, I started working in civil litigation in Sarasota, FL. I represented plaintiffs exclusively. This time period provided me with very valuable education. I had the benefit of very good attorney mentors who taught me an enormous amount about trial craft, negotiation strategy, and many of the finer techinical points of legal practice.. In 2015, my family made the decision to move to Washington. After briefly practicing on my own, I joined the firm of Deno Millikan, PLLC. At Deno Millikan, I practice primarily in the areas of family law, criminal law, and personal injury.
