Thomas E. Crenney was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on February 29, 1948. Mr. Crenney graduated from Thiel College with a Bachelor in Arts in 1970. Mr. Crenney continued his education at the Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University where he received a Masters in Divinity in 1973. As a Methodist minister, Mr. Crenney served a parish for two years in Chicago, Illinois and for four more years as pastor in Masontown, Pennsylvania. The practice of law isn’t just a profession for me.  It’s a family tradition. My mother, Charlotte Krohn, headed to law school in her forties after raising her family.  She established a private law practice and invited me to join her when I was admitted to the Maryland bar in 1978. My sister Carolyn is a bankruptcy attorney in Annapolis.  Two of my uncles were also lawyers.  My youngest daughter, a Harvard graduate, has graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and has been admitted to practice in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. Born in the former Anne Arundel General Hospital on Franklin Street in Annapolis, I have practiced law in Maryland for 36 years.  I have kept up with the evolving practice of family law, and, as an early advocate of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), became one of the first attorneys to earn a Certificate in Mediation from Harvard Law School in 1994.
