During my time as a law student, Ms. Babounakis served as an associate editor for the school's law review and graduated at the top of my class with honors.. I have more than 11 years of experience representing a variety of clients, including spouses in sensitive family law cases and businesses in complex corporate law cases. Prior to joining The Roop Law Firm, PLLC, I practiced corporate law with an internationally renowned corporate law firm.. As a former social worker and a parent of two children, I have unique insight into the challenges that family law issues create for everyone involved. Alexander H. Xanttopoulos joined ROOP XANTTOPOULOS BABOUNAKIS PLLC in the Fall 2010, to focus primarily on family law. He has experience in all areas of family law including cases involving divorce, child custody, support, visitation and equitable distribution. Prior to joining ROOP XANTTOPOULOS BABOUNAKIS, Alex worked for several years at Greenspun, Shapiro, Davis and Leary P.C. as an associate and law clerk practicing in the areas of domestic relations, traffic, criminal defense and civil litigation. Alex received his bachelors degree from the College of Charleston and Juris Doctor, cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending law school, Alex clerked for the Honorable Judge Spencer Eig of the 11th Circuit in Miami Dade County. There he researched and drafted opinions for use in various criminal, civil and appellate decisions. During his second year, Alex was a member of the University of Miami Trial Advocacy Litigation Skills Team and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. John began private practice in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he became partner in the firm of Simmons, Olsen, Ediger, Selzer & Ballew P.C. In 1991, John moved back to Lincoln and became associated with Baylor, Evnen, Curtiss, Grimit & Witt. In 1995, John and M.J. Bruckner formed The Bruckner/Ballew Law Firm, P.C. before he and Vic Covalt decided to form this firm in 1999. In 2012, the common goal of helping people with their personal legal needs brought me together with my law partner Tracy Hightower-Henne to form Hightower Reff Law.. A North Dakota native, I earned my Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton University School of Law in 2001, after graduating in 1997 from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. During my time at Creighton, I was captain of the women's rowing team and a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.. Staying active in the legal community is important to me. Hannah C. Sommers concentrates her practice in the area of family law. Larry Weidner is originally from Oklahoma.  He attended Dartmouth College where he received his AB in Economics and Government in 1985.  While in college he played rugby for Dartmouth.  Following his graduation from college, Mr. Weidner briefly played rugby in New Zealand before entering law school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law from which he graduated in 1988.  While in Law school Larry Weidner was Captain of both the Wharton School of Business Rugby Team, in addition to the Law School Rugby Team.. Following his graduation from Penn Law School Mr. Weidner joined the U.S. Marine Corps.  During his eight years in the Marine Corps Mr. Weidner served at a variety of duty stations in a number of different billtes.  Principal among them were Chief Trial Counsel for the four Western Marine Corps Air Bases, Senior Defense Counsel for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, the Beaufort Naval Hospital and the Eastern Recruiting Region.. Mr. Weidner also served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island and the Eastern Recruiting Region.  In October of 1996, Larry Weidner was promoted to the rank of Major.  He resigned his commission in December of 1996 to open the practice in Beaufort.. Larry Weidner has been a licensed pilot since he was 17 years old.  He has flown a variety of aircraft and has a commercial pilot's license with single, multi-engine and instrument ratings and has had special training in aerobatics.  Mr. Weidner was also an adjunct professor of Business Law and other aviation related subjects with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University..
