Ms. Dayton currently serves on the advisory board of the Family Violence Appellate Project, and the boards of directors of WOMEN-SV and the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association. Ms. Dayton has served on the Board of Directors for the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, and was the co-chairperson of the San Mateo County Legal Process Committee of the Domestic Violence Council. Ms. Dayton is active in local and national public policy research and advocacy and has worked on many legislative campaigns regarding domestic violence, sexual assault and and victims' rights.. Hayley E. Settles is an Atlanta native, growing up in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She attended the University of Alabama, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Linguistics. While at John Marshall, she served as Justice of the Hollowell Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta and advocated for low-income families in divorce and protective order cases under Georgia’s Student Practice Act. I have lived and worked in North Carolina almost my whole life, minus a short adventure to Norfolk, Virginia while my husband was on active duty in the Navy, and consider myself a Carolina girl through and through. Waleed Zaman (“Wally”) was born and raised in San Jose, California, where he lived until moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, to complete High School. Waleed then attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas, before transferring to Texas A&M. During his time at Texas A&M, Waleed co-managed his family’s hotel and R.V.
