I was born and raised in the Southern California area, but received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and law degree from the University of Denver, Sturm College of law. While in law school, I participated in the Community Economic Development Clinic assisting small businesses and start-ups with corporate and transactional matters. In addition, I held numerous leadership positions to assist in bettering the University of Denver and its students.. In my free time, I enjoys working out, attending sporting events, and exploring the Denver food scene. I am a huge Los Angeles sports fan, but is a diehard CU Buffs fan. I am also an avid cook and baker, appreciated especially for sharing his homemade baked goods with the office.. My main passion as an attorney is to assist as many clients as possible and to create estate plans that give them piece of mind. There is nothing more important then making sure that a client has a plan that fits with their goals. However, not everyone creates and estate plan, so if you or something you know passed without an estate plan I also specialize in probate and can make the stressful probate process straightforward and easily navigable. Jill Gookin of Gookin Law LLC has been in private practice for the majority of her legal career. She received her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University. Eventually after raising a family, returned to school to obtain a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law. She began her career working for a small firm in Denver for a short time before going into private practice.. Most recently she focuses her practice on Wills, Trust and Estate Planning, Estate Planning to Protect Pets and Probate. Worked for several years under the great Dennis Hartley (2007-2010) before starting Obernesser & Obernesser Law Firm (2010-2020). Jodi is a founding Partner in Martin Law Office LLC and has over 20 years of experience as an attorney.  Prior to 2012, Jodi practiced in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area.  Jodi’s career began with serving as an Assistant District Attorney for the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office for six years.  As an Assistant District Attorney, Jodi was assigned to a special victims unit where she focused on cases involving sex crimes, child victims, domestic violence, and homicides.  She left the District Attorney’s office to enter private practice, where she spent the next eight years litigating cases at an Oklahoma City mid-size law firm.  As a Partner at that firm, Jodi supervised a team of attorneys focused on litigating employment and civil rights lawsuits.  During her fifteen years of litigation practice, Jodi has had occasion to try over fifty cases to a jury and a multitude of trials to the Court, as well as multiple oral arguments before both the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals..
