My goal is to make estate planning simple, approachable, and transparent for families and individuals of all walks of life. After starting my career at the international law firm of Skadden, Arps, I moved to a boutique estate planning firm in Beverly Hills. I now help clients with living trusts, wills, and other estate planning related matters as well as probate and trust administration. My background includes degrees from MIT and the UCLA School of Law, but what clients value most is that I listen, explain things clearly, and provide transparency that bring peace of mind. At Weinstock Manion, I help clients achieve their estate planning and trust administration objectives. I also compassionately advise and advocate for clients during probate proceedings. Prior to joining Weinstock Manion, I practiced commercial litigation and employment law at Proskauer Rose LLP. There, I represented clients dealing with a variety of issues including breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and trademark infringement, among others. I also received Proskauer's Golden Gavel award for my representation of a disabled veteran who was discriminated against by her housing law school, I was a judicial intern for the Honorable Christina A. Snyder of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Judith Ashmann-Gerst of the Second District Court of Appeal for the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, I was the president of the Women’s Law Association and a member of the Interdisciplinary Law Journal. I also represented victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders against their abusers and custody orders over their children.

Colette T. Davis obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University, School of Law, cum laude, in Los Angeles, California and Bachelors of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles. Ms. Davis is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and California, including the United States District Court in California and North Carolina.. During Ms. Davis’ 23 years of practice, she has spent 20 years as an entrepreneur managing a private practice. Ms. Davis’ firm focuses on Probate, Estate Planning, Guardianship and Conservatorship law. The firm handles cases in both California and North Carolina, administering probate estates, advising clients on building and maintaining estates, tailoring estate plans to meet client’s specific needs, while educating client on how to pass wealth and build a future for their loved one.   Ms. Davis also works extensively with caregivers and the individuals who find themselves in need of care.  While working as an advocate for seniors, disable persons and incapacitated individuals in her private practice, Ms. Davis spent 10 years protecting the financial, personal and civil rights of minors, seniors and disabled individuals in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings through Court appointments.. Whether counseling small business owners on succession planning so the business will not die with the founder, or advising a bankruptcy client how to recover and thrive after bankruptcy, Ms. Davis has spent her legal career assisting families in building and preserving legacies for generations to come, while focusing on family care and providing for loved ones that are currently in need of assistance.. In addition to her practice, Ms. Davis has taught Wills, Trusts and Estates  and Bankruptcy for the National Bar Association Paralegal program at CPCC. She also lectures and participates in workshops on elder and disabled care planning, starting and maintaining a small business, preserving and transferring family wealth and consumer bankruptcy relief in person and through several radio and television programs.. Ms. Davis is currently managing the Law Office of Colette T. Davis, PLLC where she continues her focus on maintaining and preserving family wealth through estate planning, seniors’ rights, small business matters and bankruptcy relief.   In addition to managing her practice, she spends time giving back to her community by volunteering with the Mecklenburg Bar through various committees and with Crossroads Charter School as a Board member.  She is a former Board member of Girl Talk Foundation and currently serves on a committee for Girl Talk Foundation.  Ms. Davis also volunteered with Hospice Palliative Care, Charlotte Region for 5 years, previously served on the Executive Committee of the Probate Division of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Judicial Committee with Black Women Lawyers of Los Angeles.  In addition to her membership in the North Carolina and California State Bars, Ms. Davis is a member and participates in a number of other bar association in North Carolina and California.

Sarah S. Broomer is a partner with Ruttenberg Cutler Broomer, LLP. Sarah S. Broomer’s practice includes all aspects of complex conservatorship, fiduciary, trust and estate litigation, as well as the mediation of disputes. Sarah also handles all aspects of estate planning, family succession planning, charitable giving and insurance trusts, as well as the handling of property tax and reassessment matters.

Thomas E. Beltran is a partner at Barton, Klugman & Oetting in downtown Los Angeles. His areas of practice include estate planning, disability-related estate planning, conservatorships and guardianships, will and trust litigation, public benefits litigation in administrative forums, state and federal court, defense of special needs trusts, probate, special education and regional center litigation and appellate matters. Recent published cases concern regional center services: Harbor Regional Center v. Office of Administrative Hearings, (2012) 210 293 and Samantha C. v. Department of Developmental Services, (2010) 185 Cal. App. 4th 1462. He set-up the PLAN of California Master Pooled Trust, and serves as its general counsel. Mr. In the mid-1980s, he was part of a Congressional demonstration project which lead to the codification of the SSI work incentives, Sections 1619(a) and (b) of the Social Security Act. Other experience includes ten years with the regional centers, work with the special education clinic at Pepperdine Law School, and a lecturer in the University of Judaism's graduate school of psychology, from 1998 until the program closed in 2001. He also was active in consultation with the dependency system and edited the CASA special education manual. Mr. Beltran drafted the language for SB-303 (Wright), codified as Penal Code , applying the ADA’s accessibility requirements to proceedings involving sexual abuse victims with disabilities, and he was the principal drafter of the amendments to Probate Code §§ 3600 et seq. [AB-1851 (Harmon)]. He co-authored an article with Peter Stern to explain the new law in First-Party Special Needs Trusts and Probate Code Sections 3600 et seq.—What AB 1851 (Stats. 2004, Ch. 67) Accomplished, California Trusts and Estates Quarterly, Fall 2006. His article, People with Disabilities, Age 65 and Over, Can Establish a Self-Settled Pooled Special Needs Trust That Protects Their Medicaid Benefits, was published in the Consumer Attorneys of California FORUM magazine, September/October 2009. His Article, Achieving Ability, about the ABLE Act, was a feature article for the Los Angeles County Bar Magazine’s September 2015 issue.
