I chose to come home to Athens after law school to raise my children in a small town atmosphere.  My practice has grown into a large Real Property practice including being the owner of Trinity Valley Abstract and Title where we handle hundreds of real estate closings every year. With the title company, I have overseen thousands of transactions over the last ten years.. I provide real property document creation, litigation, and litigation support all over the State of Texas. I am an Endowment Life Member of the National Rifle Association and also a member of the Texas State Rifle Association, the California Rifle and Pistol Club, the Second Amendment Foundation, and the U.S. Concealed Carry Association.. I began my professional career in 1985 after obtaining a B.B.A. in accounting. I immediately passed the national exam and worked as a C.P.A. for several years. During that time I gained a solid understanding of the financial and management issues facing businesses, as well as their tax and regulatory burdens. I earned my law degree in 1991 and began practicing law in California and later in Texas. During more than twenty-five years of practicing law, I have represented businesses and individuals in a wide range of legal areas, including tax and regulatory issues, civil litigation, estate and business planning, and pursuing appeals in state and federal courts.

My practice is based on a different way of thinking about client relationships and how to best serve my clients’ legal needs.. Over my 38 years of practice, I’ve accumulated a broad range of experiences representing businesses and individuals. Proactive, preventative law became a meaningful practice for me as my litigation clients frequently sought continued representation in order to develop litigation prevention strategies. I am passionate about helping people formulate plans to reach their goals.  Since 1999, I have been involved in that process with hundreds of clients as a professional in the financial services industry.  In 2011, I enrolled at Arizona Summit Law School. It wasn’t always easy balancing family and school while maintaining a growing financial services company.  But with the help of my wife and others, along with some divine intervention, I graduated with honors (summa cum laude) in 2014.  The rest is history.  Now I spend my time helping individuals and families create and maintain solid estate plans – truly an important work!. On a more personal note:. Before becoming an attorney, I grew up in Scottsdale, went to Horizon High School, and then joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves.  Following my active duty training, I went on a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and later graduated from Arizona State University – go Sun Devils!  Along the way I moved to Mesa where I met my sweetheart – Jennifer.  We were married in 1999 and have since been blessed with 6 children (4 boys & 2 girls)!  So when I’m not at work, I’m usually playing with my family, fixing up the house, or playing basketball.
