Before relocating to Nashville from upstate New York in 2006, Ron earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY. During his time at Medaille, he was actively involved in many clubs and organizations including the Student Activities Board, Athletics board and was Vice President and Co-Founder of the first intercollegiate ice hockey program in the institution's history, a feat in which he is particularly proud.. Four years after relocating to Nashville and pursuing a career in law enforcement, Ron decided to part ways with the executive branch of the law and made the choice to transition into a career as an attorney. Soon after being introduced to the legal world, it was evident there was a need for personal, dedicated legal professionals. Therefore, starting his own practice with these principles in mind became his goal. Upon earning his Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law and passing the Tennessee Bar Exam, he did exactly that by going into private practice and co-founding the law firm of Herbert & Lux, PLLC.

Mr. Gotham has over 13 years bankruptcy law experience and has personally handled hundreds of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. He is certified by the American Board of Certification in the fields of Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law.  To be certified, Mr. Gotham satisfied the following requirements: full time practice of law for at least five years; good standing in the bars of all states where a license to practice law is held; devoted at least 30% of practice time and at least 400 hours to bankruptcy-related matters in the last three years; documented involvement in business and consumer bankruptcy by providing information on cases practiced; demonstrated commitment to continuing legal education by earning at least 60 hours of bankruptcy education in the past three years; passed an extensive, day-long written examination covering business and consumer bankruptcy issues. He regularly negotiates bankruptcy agreements for both businesses and individuals; and represents both debtors and creditors in a full array of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. In addition, he is a frequent public speaker on the subject of Estate Planning to a wide variety of lay audiences. Prior to entering private practice, Kyle served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1984 to 1989, in West Germany (see photo).. Kyle and his wife, Gretchen, have been married since 1981, and have three daughters. He serves on the Board of Elders at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Kyle is an Associate Instructor with Walk Thru the Bible Ministries, presenting Old Testament and New Testament live events in local churches. He served as a Commissioner on the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission from 2011 until 2024, and has been a volunteer Attorney Advisor for Kansas City Hospice since 1997. When his schedule permits, you may find Kyle on family property outside Mound City, Kansas, tromping around in the woods or sitting on the creek bank. He is a lousy golfer.
