Joe is the senior lawyer at Bixby Law Office. He practices in many areas of law some of which are shown on the practice page of this web site. He is the City Attorney for the City of Geneva and has held this position since 1978. He is proud of the many accomplishments and the expansion of the City. Joe has also sat as the Chairman of the Fillmore County Mental Health Board since 1975. As Chairman, Joe has presided over many mental health cases for Fillmore, Clay, Saline, Jefferson, Seward and York Counties.. Joe has been a life long resident of Geneva. He is the third generation Bixby residing in Geneva. Doctor Bixby is Joe’s grandfather, a medical doctor and former Mayor of the City of Geneva. Joseph Bixby Jr, was Joe’s father. Joseph sold insurance and started the Fillmore County Bank in Geneva with his brother, John. John Bixby also sold insurance under the name of Bixby Insurance. John later became the City Administrator for the City of Geneva serving the City for many years.. Joe graduated from Geneva Public Schools, attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE, then went to law school at the University of Nebraska. He has practiced law since 1975 in Geneva.
