Leonidas L. Bezanis II focuses his practice in Family Law Litigation. Following his experience with the State, Mr. Bezanis worked as a Judicial Extern to Cook County Circuit Judge James N. O’Hara. Mr. Bezanis’s duties included assisting with the management of a courtroom portfolio of more than 1400 cases as well as authoring draft opinions, legal memoranda and statements of issues regarding Illinois state tort claims.. Mr. Bezanis spent his final year of law school clerking at Beermann LLP, one of the most prestigious litigation firms in the state of Illinois. Immediately following his admission to the Illinois Bar, Mr. Bezanis was brought on as an attorney by the Beermann firm, where he assisted in the litigation and settlement of numerous issues for high profile clientele. Mr. Ruchim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences in 2014 and a Certificate in Business Practices in 2015 from Northwestern University while also serving as team captain of the Northwestern Baseball Team. Following a three-year professional baseball career, Mr. Ruchim received his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2019, focusing his studies on Civil Litigation and Trial Advocacy. While at DePaul, Mr. Ruchim was a Family Law Fellow and was a member of DePaul’s National Trial Team and Appellate Moot Court Society. He was also awarded six CALI Excellence Awards, including awards in Evidence, Business Fundamentals and Civil Litigation Strategies. Following graduation from DePaul, Mr. Ruchim was inducted into the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers.

Paul K. Waterman grew up in Iowa City, Iowa.  After graduating from law school in 2004, Paul worked in Washington, D.C., with an appellate practice, including assisting in drafting the brief in Duke Energy, which helped win a 9-0 decision by the Supreme Court.  Paul returned to Iowa in 2006 and has worked at law firms in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, primarily practicing in Family Law, Personal Injury, and Business Litigation. In 2011, Paul opened his own law firm with offices in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

My firm handles hundreds of divorces every year in Central Iowa ranging from simple uncontested divorces to complex international family law cases in federal court. My team is second to none. I have been the lead trial counsel in over one hundred divorce matters in Central Iowa, including international cases brought under the constructs of the Hague Convention in the United States Federal Court for Iowa.  I have also successfully argued numerous cases in front of the Iowa Court of Appeals.  In addition to divorces, I represent individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries in state and federal court.  In the last two years I have collected over ten million dollars on behalf of injured parties.  I am a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association (ABA).  I sit on the family law section of all three bar associations and sit on the International Family Law Committee of the ABA.   I grew up in Ankeny and currently reside there with my wife and daughters.
