Deziree has lived in Nebraska most of her life. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology which provided her with an essential foundation for helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives and sparking her interest in the legal field. Prior to graduating from the Nebraska College of Law with her Juris Doctor in 2016, Deziree was as a senior-certified law student and participated in the law school’s Family Law Clinic, both of which gave her practical experience in handling real cases for real people. Anne Emery created the firm in 2004 after retiring from the State's Attorney's Office for St. Mary's County. Over 18 years she prosecuted major felony cases (including murder, child abuse and rape), traffic cases (both minor and serious) and worked with DSS to establish paternity and enforce child support orders.. Katherine Kole Thompson has been a resident of Harford County for her entire life. She attended Harford Day School and the John Carroll School. Katie completed her undergraduate degrees in biology and psychology at Boston College in 1990, graduating cum laude and as a Scholar of the College. While at Boston College, she competed on the varsity swimming team and completed the Boston Marathon in 1990. Returning closer to home to attend law school at the University of Maryland, Katie graduated from law school in 1993 and was admitted to the Maryland Bar that same year. While attending law school full-time, Katie was a student attorney representing juvenile offenders, served as associate editor for The Business Lawyer Law Journal, and worked as a law clerk for two law firms..
