I have lived in the United States for about 9 years.  I moved here from England.  Working within the legal system over here has been amazing and it truly is a privilege to be able to help such a diverse population.  I have a strong interest in learning about new cultures and ideas.  Houston has been the perfect place to indulge that interest both professionally and personally.

Lori M. Kern has been involved in the practice of family law since 1999. She began her law career as a paralegal before becoming an attorney in 2009, and has worked for various law firms and organizations throughout the greater Houston area. Lori has been practicing since 2009 and has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2015.  She established Kern Law, PLLC in 2017, and practices in Fort Bend and surrounding counties.She has numerous published works and has spoken at several legal conferences and seminars. Kimberly G. Kleinhans was born in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, graduated cum laude from Penn State University in Crime, Law, and Justice with a minor in Law and Liberal Arts.  She was co-captain of the Penn State Altoona tennis team; Vice-President of Zeta Xi Epsilon and founding sister of Gamma Phi Beta; an officer in the criminal justice honor's program, Alpha Phi Sigma; panhellenic representative on the Penn State Inner-Greek Counsel, and President/Founder of the Penn State Altoona Ski Club.. After working for numerous firms as a paralegal, Kimberly applied to law school and received a scholarship.  She graduated with distinction from the Thomas Cooley Law School in 2008.. Kimberly's achievements include representation of a client on the Dr. Phil show, representing Willie Nelson's co-defendant, and leading numerous personal injury pre-litigation settlements on personal injury and general litigation cases. My family moved to the small town of Round Top, Texas, when I was 11 years old, and I grew up in our family's cafe, working from that time on. I learned from my family the value of customer service, hard work, and the value of relationships. In deciding to pursue a career as an attorney, those have all served me very well.. I attended the University of Texas for both undergrad and law school, and have been a resident of Austin since 1998. I originally pursued a legal career in mergers and acquisitions and corporate work, but quickly realized it was not best for me. I was fortunate to find a great mentor with Tim Whitten, and began practicing with Brad Coldwell and Charlie Bowes in 2010.  I have learned a great deal with both Charlie and Brad, and was made partner in early 2016..
