Lisa Rasmussen Hoing received her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska in 2002. Lisa specialized in both the Criminal Litigation Skills Track and Civil Litigation Skills Track during her tenure at the University. My family was pretty poor.  My dad died when I was just 9 years old.  When I got into the 10 grade, I got into a program that allowed me to work half a day and go to class the other half.  When I graduated from high school in 1974, I went to work in a local sawmill.  After that, I got a better job in a small oil refinery.  I worked there until April 1976, and on the 19th day of April I went to work for DuPont Chemical.. I worked the next twenty years for Dupont.  After working there for 13 plus years, I started going to college classes at night.  On December of 1995, I graduated in the top of the class with a 3.95 GPA.. I started law school in August 1996, and graduated in February of 1999.  Upon graduation, my wife and I threw a dart at a map and ended up here.  Central Texas is my home.  I love it here and I intend to retire here.. I became a lawyer to help people solve some of the most difficult and personal situations they have ever had to deal with.  I respect everyone, and I treat people fair. Practicing law since 2005, I now devote most of my practice to helping families resolve conflict out of court. Many of my clients are faced with either divorce or legal issues that sometimes follow divorce. And while family conflict of any form is immensely difficult, I strive to help my clients clearly identify and assess the major legal issues that can be hidden amidst broken relationships. I love being a family law attorney. I have extensive experience with most family law issues ranging from divorces, child custody disputes, child support disputes, and adoptions.  Because of my successful results many of my clients have been referrals from previous satisfied clients. I am originally from El Paso, Texas and I am the youngest son of Mexican immigrants. I first came to San Antonio in 2004 to attend university and graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law. During my time at St. Mary’s, I volunteered as a student attorney helping indigent clients in family matters.  This is when I became passionate about family law.  I saw the hardships and injustices many people go through during a divorce or in suits involving children. It was these experiences that inspired me to pursue a career in family law. As a devoted husband and proud father, I know just how personal and stressful family law issues can be. That is why I fight for each of my clients to get the best possible results. I am also an adjunct professor at Our Lady of the Lake University  teaching mock trials. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and playing the guitar.

As a native Texan who loves all things Texas, I love helping our community with their legal matters.  I travel across the state helping others and seeing this great land that I call home. I also have the wonderful experience of assisting clients that reside out-of-state, but that have legal concerns here in Texas.. It is always my goal to make this often difficult process as easy and painless for the client as possible.  I give my cell phone number out to clients along with all the other methods with which they may use to contact me.. Athough I love the courtroom, I realize this is not always the best answer for my clients, so I use my skills as a licensed mediator to assist them in the negotiation process.  This very often results in a settlement agreement which they are happy with becuase they had a part to play in the process.
