He attended McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, on a debate and academic scholarship; was a nationally ranked competitive debater; and, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having triple-majored in Philosophy, Speech Communication, and Political Science.
