I am a hardworking litigator who has worked on a variety of cases.. I am a native of Rochester, New York. I graduated from Nazareth College, cum laude, with Honors, majoring in Communication and Rhetoric and minoring in Philosophy and Legal Studies. After graduating, I worked as a paralegal in a respected employment firm in Rochester and spent four months backpacking in Europe, to experience different cultures worldwide.. I moved to Seattle in 2015 and graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law. While attending, I was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and Seattle University Law Review Legal Journal. I was a recipient of the Pro Bono Pledge Award (100 hours of Pro Bono completed by graduation) and was a two-time CALI Excellence for the Future Award Recipient. I was also a two-time Alternate Dispute Resolution Competition winner, competing with my team on a regional basis in Client Counseling and Negotiations.. I am an avid dog and nature lover who can often can be found at a park or hiking trail with my “legal beagle” Jax, border collie Murphy, and wife Jess.

Dan has been working as an attorney at McCarthy, Leonard & Kaemmerer in Town and Country, Missouri since July of 2016.  He practices primarily in the areas of construction law, real estate, commercial litigation, and personal injury matters.. In 2016 and 2017 Dan was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, which recognizes excellency in the practice of law.  No more than 2.5% of attorneys in MO and KS are named to the Rising Stars List.. Dan started working as an attorney at the law firm of Troppito Miller Griffin, LLC, in Kansas City, MO in May of 2014. He practiced primarily in the areas of consumer fraud, construction law, real and personal property matters, and contractual disputes/drafting.. Dan graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2013. He also earned CALI awards (highest grade in the class) in both Legal Writing and Professional Responsibility and served as the Business Editor of the UMKC Law Review. In addition, Dan received the Excellence in Estate Planning award from UMB Bank for providing superior pro bono estate planning assistance to individuals in the Kansas City community; only one student in the law school graduating class is recognized with this award. During Dan’s fifth semester of law school, he taught himself Italian and subsequently finished law school in Italy, at the University of Rome, where he took his final semester in Italian, studying European comparative and private Italian law.. Dan earned his undergraduate degrees from Missouri State University in 2010 with a B.S. in both International Business and Spanish. He also had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Valencia, Spain at the Universidad Politécnica in 2008.. While in law school Dan spent numerous hours in courtrooms and judges’ chambers as he served as a judicial intern under the following three judges:  (1) the Honorable Sarah W. Hays of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, (2) the Honorable David M. Byrn for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, and (3) the Honorable Kenneth R. Garrett III for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri. While working under these judges, Dan had the opportunity to observe some of the finest attorneys in the legal profession argue trials, hearings, and mediations. At that time, Dan also worked as a law clerk for Troppito + Miller where he predominantly assisted with matters relating to: contractual disputes, real property, consumer/general fraud, collections, bankruptcy, and adversary proceedings of various sorts within bankruptcies.. Dan began his legal career as a volunteer at the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (“SMBA”) in order to gain exposure to the legal profession.  While working at the SMBA, he met several prominent attorneys that recommended the Springfield, Missouri civil defense powerhouse, Turner, Reid, Duncan, Loomer, & Patton, P.C., where he subsequently found a job and worked as an investigator until he moved to Kansas City for law school. At Turner Reid, Dan provided support for the attorneys to facilitate the defense of negligence, products liability, medical malpractice, and insurance claims cases.. Dan is currently licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas state courts as well as the Western District of Missouri federal courts.
