He is a first generation born U.S. Citizen, his parents having fled from Cuba in the early 1960s. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Florida International University in 2001. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University in 2004. He sat for, and passed, the Florida Bar in that same year.. Personally, Mr. Valdes enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. He also remains very close to his extended family in Miami. He is very proud of his Hispanic heritage, and embraces the work ethic instilled into him by his parents and several other role models in his life. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida in 2006, and his law degree from Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2012. Prior to and during law school, Michael was employed with Sedgwick Claims Management Services as a workers’ compensation adjuster, handling complex lost time and litigated claims in Florida and the Carolinas. Michael is licensed to practice law in Florida.
