I represent management in employment matters, with a primary focus cost containment counseling and representation of Ohio employers in Ohio workers’ compensation matters.  I routinely represent clients of all sizes, from small companies to international corporations in multiple industries, throughout the state before the Ohio Industrial Commission, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and at all state court trial and appellate levels. Prior to focusing on employment litigation and workers’ compensation, I was a general litigator, representing individuals, businesses, and insurance companies throughout the state of Ohio.

Shane is an experienced attorney handling workers' compensation and employment defense matters. His clients include employers of all sizes and across a variety of industries. Previously, Shane was an associate with Bricker & Maxfield as well as with national firms Thompson Hine and Arter & Hadden. He launched his own firm in 2007 which has grown into the statewide defense practice of Dawson & Associates. From their offices centrally located in Columbus, they represent employers throughout Ohio.

I am proud to represent people and not corporations. We spend 100% of our time representing injured clients--not divorce, DWI or criminal clients, as most firms do.. I was born in Kansas City, but grew up in Macon, Missouri, before coming to Columbia for college at Mizzou, graduating from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1998.. During law school, I clerked at the Hines Law Firm, as I wanted to stay in Columbia to practice, and was hired as an Associate at the Firm in 1998.  I was made a Partner in the Firm in 2003, where I practice exclusively in the areas of personal injury litigation and worker's compensation.  We only represent those who have been injured through no fault of their own and are able to pick our cases and clients carefully.. I serve on the Board of KIDS' CHANCE of Missouri, a scholarship program for children of workers who were seriously injured or killed on the job.  I have also been elected by my peers to serve on the Board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys since 2005.
