Dawn received her Bachelor's degree from Washington & Jefferson College in 1992 and her Juris Doctorate degree from D.C. Law in 1995. She is a member of The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Dawn concentrates her practice in the defense of workers' compensation, and labor and employment matters. Dawn is the Managing Partner of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Office of Eraclides, Gelman, Hall, Indek, Goodman & Waters, LLP. Dawn is the Immediate Past Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of The Florida Bar and is a member of the Executive Council of the Workers' Compensation Section of The Florida Bar. Dawn is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. She is a member of the Broward County, Dade County and Monroe County Bar Associations. Dawn is certified by The Florida Department of Financial Services as an instructor in Workers' Compensation, and has lectured on multiple occasions at numerous conferences including The Florida Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Forum, The Florida Workers’ Compensation Institute (FWCI), The Risk Management Society (RIMS), PRIMA (Public Risk Management Association) and International Association of Rehabilitations Professionals (IARP) on various topics including ethics, and the administration and defense of workers' compensation claims. Dawn was previously the Vice-Chair of the Workers' Compensation Rules Committee. Dawn is a Trustee with the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, and is the past Secretary and current Chair-Elect of the South Florida Chapter.

I grew up in San Antonio, TX.  I graduated from Boston University in 1996 with a degree in Economics.  I then went to law school at the University of Miami and graduated in 1999.  I have been practicing law since 1999 and I have been mediating since 2006.  I am fluent in Spanish and Haitian Creole.  I am conversant in Hebrew and French.  My practice is focused on ALL types of accidents and injuries.  I only represent plaintiffs.  I also enjoy my work as a mediator.  To my knowledge, I am the only worker's compensation mediator in the State of Florida who is fluent in Haitian Creole.  I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Workers' Advocates (a statewide organization of attorneys who represent injured workers and who advocate to improve the workers' compensation system in favor of injured workers.. Speaking engagements include the following:  I have paneled discussions at the FWA Educational Conferences regarding 'hot topics' and 'attorneys fees'.  I have also paneled discussions at the Mediators convention in Orlando, FL on issues involving diversity.  I have also lectured to the JCC's (second Fridays -- coordinated by Deputy Chief Judge David Langham) on issues of diversity.

Matthew graduated in 2014 with a JD from Florida State University College of Law. As a law student he participated in the FSU Family Law Clinic where he worked with low-income clients with a wide range of issues including dissolution of marriage, custody, visitation, paternity, and injunctions against violence. Following his second year of law school he participated in a clinical externship with the City of Tallahassee Attorney’s Office as a Student-Attorney where he represented the City of Tallahassee in cases involving subrogation, contracts, police forfeitures, eminent domain, and writs of garnishment. Prior to attending law school, Matthew graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Matthew is licensed to practice in Florida and works in our Miami/Ft. Lauderdale office.

Andrew began his legal career in 1995 as a Federal and State Court litigator in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During that time he worked for a prestigious downtown Philadelphia law firm which represented people injured as a result of someone else’s negligence. Andrew’s extensive legal experience includes representing numerous injured victims all the way through trial, mediation and arbitration.A member of the Florida Bar, Andrew returned his home state of Florida in February 2000 where he formed his own firm, Andrew H. Kessler, PA. The firm focused exclusively on representing injury victims and filing law suits against insurance companies who failed to properly pay benefits owed to policy holders.. Joshua Higgins is a Partner and Business Unit Leader in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office focusing his practice on Workers’ Compensation, Police Professional Litigation , Correctional Healthcare , and Civil Rights Violations.. Joshua was named a 2020 Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Star" and "2020 Top Lawyer" by Fort Lauderdale Illustrated, both in the field of workers' compensation.. Prior to joining the firm, Joshua worked as an Assistant State Attorney at the State Attorney’s Office, 17th Judicial Circuit, in both the felony trial unit and county court division.  While there, Joshua tried more than 30 bench trials and 22 jury trials, with one trial featured on local Fox news.. During law school, Joshua served as the Chairperson of Administration for the Moot Court Honor Society, a Staff Member for the Inter-American Center for Human Rights, and the Secretary for the National Security and Law Society.  He received a perfect score from the Chief Justice in the first round of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition, and placed in the top eight out of more than 125 students in the Feinrider Moot Court Competition.  Joshua was one of 40 law students selected nationwide as a summer fellow for the Florida Bar Foundation, which resulted in him working at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida doing foreclosure defense for indigent elderly citizens.. Prior to entering law school, Joshua obtained his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was selected for induction into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and was listed in Who’s Who Among American College Students.  Additionally, Joshua was chosen as a Renaissance Scholar, an award bestowed on less than 4% of graduates that year, for those exhibiting scholarly excellence in at least two widely disparate areas of study.
