Javier Grajeda is a State Bar of Arizona Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist who represents injured workers. He publishes and presents nationally on workers’ rights. He is a bilingual Spanish-speaker and a member of Arizona’s Hispanic Bar Association-Los Abogados and the Hispanic National Bar Association. Javier is a board member of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group and Kids’ Chance of Arizona; treasurer of the Arizona Association of Lawyers for Injured workers; and a past member of the NFLPA Workers’ Compensation Panel. He is a graduate of University of California Berkeley and Arizona State University Sandra Day O’ Connor College of Law. He is a co-founder of Grajeda Weinstein, a boutique law firm in central Phoenix specializing in workers’ compensation.. Phil Shell has been representing injured workers and their families for over 35 years. He is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. For many years he was a principal partner in the law firm of Day Shell & Liljenquist in Murray, Utah.. Phil has successfully litigated hundreds of cases throughout the past 35 years and has successfully argued cases before the Utah Supreme Court, the Utah Court of Appeals, and even the United States Supreme Court. He was successful at the Utah Supreme Court in overturning a law which took money from disabled Utah seniors when they began to receive Social Security retirement benefits. This resulted in a recovery of over 15 million dollars for Utah families. He has also tried other cases that have beneficially shaped Utah law for injured workers and helped many people obtain Social Security Disability benefits.. Phil was legal counsel for the Injured Workers’ Association and has served as a pro-tem judge in the Salt Lake County small claims court. He has been a presenter at many legal seminars to teach other attorneys about the workers’ compensation system. He has repeatedly been named among Utah’s Legal Elite in the area of workers’ compensation.. He is a native of Utah, a ham radio operator (K7SHL), and an avid freelance photographer. Phil also keeps a banjo next to his desk.

I am in my 19th year of the practice of law. I spent my first two years of my career as a prosecutor with the Lake County State’s Attorneys Office. For the last 17 years I have almost exclusively practiced in the area of workers compensation. I do also handle criminal cases for clients in need.. I began my workers compensation career defending Employers and Insurance companies against such claims. However, for the past 4 years, I have “put on the white hat” and devoted all of my efforts to representing the Rights of Injured Workers. My time defending workers compensation claims and working with the insurance companies has given me invaluable insight into the “tricks and traps” the insurance companies perpetrate on the injured worker. Insurance companies have highly qualified attorneys representing their interests, and having been one I know how to best defeat them. One of my main goals is to sufficiently educate my clients so that they understand all aspects of their case. Because only an informed client can truly decide what is the best decision for them given all the circumstances of their case.. My prosecutorial experience has given me an excellent investigative sense and an aggressive courtroom style. I not only have the experience to aggressively handle cases, but also have the ability to recognize what is in the best interest of each client and assertively manage case to meet it.. I have extensive experience before the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission and have become a respected member of this exclusive legal community. I have been previously selected by my peers as a “Rising Star” within the Top 2.5 percent of lawyers concentrating in the area of workers compensation law. I have been a long time member of the Illinois Workers Compensation Lawyers Association.. I was born in Waukegan, Illinois in 1971 and grew up in Wadsworth, Illinois where I attended St. Patrick’s grade school. I went on to high school and graduated from Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois. In 1990, I went off to Michigan State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and Pre-Law. I received my Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in 1998.  I was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Illinois in 1998 and was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 1999.
