Since 1988 my law practice has been focused primarily in the area of Georgia workers' compensation law.  During my first five years of practice, I worked as an associate with a top insurance defense law firm in mid-town Atlanta.  During my time as an insurance defense lawyer I had the opportunity to try hundreds of cases in cities and towns throughout Georgia and I learned a great deal about this fascinating area of the law.. I also had an opportunity to observe other lawyers try cases and when I decided to set out on my own in the early 1990's I decided to use my experience and training to represent injured workers.  Since 1993 I have represented injured employees exclusively.. I offer my clients personalized and responsive service.  I employ one paralegal but otherwise I am involved in every aspect of my client's case.  I am especially concerned about helping my clients get appropriate medical care.  I know from my days as an insurance defense lawyer that "company doctors" often do not have the qualifications or motivation to provide quality medical care and I offer to my clients the benefit of my knowledge about dozens of medical specialists throughout Georgia to help them get the quality care they deserve.

During my legal career, I have worked both for the Defense side, representing large insurance companies, and as a Plaintiff’s Advocate, representing the individual’s rights. In 2007 I became the lead attorney for the DOVER Law Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department as well as the firm’s Personal Injury Litigation Trial Team.In 2008 I joined Montlick & Associates Workers' Compensation Department and a little later joined the firm's Personal Injury Department. I have recently shifted my focus and devotion to practicing 100% of my time to Workers' Compensation, specifically helping injured workers.

I have practiced law for almost 20 years although it does not seem that long.  I have chosen my practice areas in indigent criminal defense, education law, and now workers' compensation because all have allowed me to work for an individual.  I enjoy the connection with a live person for whom I can advocate.  I like to get to know the person I respresent.  My clients are more than mere case numbers.  I am more effective if I can empathize with and understand the individuals for whom I argue.. Becoming a lawyer was never the ultimate goal.  It has always been a means to an end. It is a way in which I can use my expertise to help people maneuver their way through an otherwise confusing and complicated legal system in order to invoke rights or request redress.. I spend my spare time with my husband and two energetic sons.  We enjoy travelling the world together and exploring new places, but in many ways, every day is an adventure.  There are very few dull moments in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have been representing injured workers in Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation cases since 1992.  Early in my career, I also did some work in employment law and Social Security Disability, but my practice has been limited to PA Workers’ Compensation for several years now.. Away from the office, I enjoy sports (though my days as a roller hockey goalie, sadly, are over).  I am active in my community, and had served as President of the Homeowners’ Association in my 400-residence development.
