broke a parking garage gate arm by accident- pls help

so basc I was driving into the mall in Location: California and I was super distracted/stressed that I forgot to put my car in park before opening my window to get my ticket from the machine that my car started moving and it broke the thing that goes up and down to let the cars through. It fell on the other side so I went and got a ticket and then decided to park my car and come fix it bc I couldnt just leave my car in the middle and fix it. by the time I called my family and came to fix it, it was already fixed and working fine as if nothing had happened. I’m not sure if someone fixed it or what. and when I paid my ticket after the mall it was all normal. will I be charged for it if nothing happened to the thing? I’m rlly scared. nothing happened to my car or the gate thing. its not a hit and run bc i litterally came back to fix it but it was already fixed. should i report this? I’m freaking out please let me know.
