Landlord says they made a mistake. (Pennsylvania)

landlord tenant attorney Pennsylvania Aug 10, 2026
Hello, Location: Pennsylvania. I live with my girlfriend in an apartment complex. We recently got our rent renewal, it showed no increase with the correct dates. It gave us 3 options to renew 1 year, 6 months or month to month. How the lease renewal is worded, it says along the lines of we are happy to offer you this renewal. Gives the options, then ask to sign and return. Only one signature spot for just the renters in the unit. We signed it and sent it back two days after we got it. 5 days after that we get an email saying we made a mistake and here is your lease renewal. It showed a modest 2% increase. Here’s my question, after signing the first renewal would that mean it’s finalized at the rate they offered? We pushed back and even offered a near 1% increase if they need to show anything at all. They counted with take it or leave it pretty much. Would this be a break in contract and worth fighting or even mentioning that in a reply?
