Unlawful detainer process server seemed very nice...

The process server was basically giving us life hacks to extend the 10 days needed to respond, by saying he could pretend he didn't see one of the tenants even though they were there. It seems suspicious to me, almost as if the landlord knows him and tried to make us fall for a collusion trap or something. location: california
