Apartment putting me up for eviction -

landlord tenant attorney Texas Aug 20, 2026
So, I made a payment arrangement that I would pay my full rent on the 27th through email and it was approved and it says so in my emails through the management group of my apartments. Then I get a notice to quit or pay, I then email and ask if the payment agreement made prior was still valid and they told me they could only wait until the 21st and if on the 21st at 10am it’s not paid they will file for eviction. I then call and try to find out why it was changed and they didn’t really give me an answer they just said they saw the 21st. So I asked about the process for eviction and I need to make my payment before the court date and have next months rent payment paid on time to get the eviction thrown out. But, I wouldn’t be able to pay my rent on the 1st - I wouldn’t be able to pay it on 3rd of September. My question is…how is it possible that they can just change when I have to pay when it was agreed a week or two prior for a later date? He said that it is AI in the email and that he will go back and check it. But in the email before I got the approval it said it would escalate my concern to a colleague and the next day I got an email saying it was approved. So how is it possible that the 27th agreement isn’t valid if the email is still part of my apartments management group and they can clearly see what’s going on? Location: Texas Any advice would be great!
