Going to court for old DUI charge

dui attorney Connecticut Aug 24, 2026
Location: Connecticut/ New Jersey I go to court in Connecticut for a dui case that I caught on Xmas day 2024. I turned myself in on the warrant a couple weeks ago. Since that day in 2024 I have completed a 30 day rehab followed by a six month rehab and a currently 18 months sober. I moved to New Jersey during that timeframe and currently have a NJ license( I transferred my old CT license to NJ). This will be my first offense (I can’t use the get AR program again) and Connecticut is suspending my license for 45 days. Is it likely that NJ will just follow Connecticuts suspension and suspend my license in NJ for 45 days as well? Also, since I’m not fighting the case is it a waste of money hiring a lawyer as it’s my first charge? I’ve been quoted 2,000 to handle the court case alone and nothing to do with the dmv. Thanks in advance for any and all opinions.
