Job says PTO amount on check stubs is inaccurate, not paying me

Florida Jul 23, 2026
Location: Florida My birthday was last week and I took a vacation. My check stub going into the week said I had ~18 hours of PTO available. Flash forward to now and they’re saying that my PTO balance is actually in the negative somehow, our check stubs are not accurate, and I don’t have vacation pay available for the days I took off (only one extra day). I’m in a bit of a pickle financially right now and I need that money, if I knew I couldn’t use PTO I never would have taken the day off. I’m wondering if this is legal, or if I have any standing ground to call the labor board? If I have PTO on my check stub it’s coming from a direct calculation based on my YTD hours, correct? They can’t just tell me that I don’t have hours I have earned?
