Smoking under 21.

Location: Chicago, IL. so i was looking into the laws in illinois concerning buying and possessing bc im going to be in chicago for college, and i saw that buying under 21 is illegal HOWEVER possessing and using under 21 IS legal. now most of my information is coming from an ai, so please let me know whether im going to get a criminal charge for carrying cigarettes and vapes in chicago as an 18 year old. thank you
