Failed Systems

Tennessee Jul 25, 2026
Location: Tennessee I am looking to see if there is even a case here.(?) Let me begin by saying that if I do begin a lawsuit, money is not the main objective. The main objective I would be going after is law and systems reformed. I am in the process of being diagnosed with PTSD and as I am beginning to accept that I might actually have this, I am realizing how many systems failed me and allowed for what I am assuming was PTSD to grow into CPTSD. As a hairstylist I was made to take a course on DV and how to spot it, how to offer help if they are able to take it, and when its time to report something to police. Ironically, that is what began my process of realizing what I was living in was not "Normal" and that I wasn't "too much" I was just never fully taught that my voice mattered. By adulthood I can think of at least two systems that should have been in place to help not only me but other children. And now in adulthood I am seeing at least 4 more that could have been in place to help me out of my situation long before I was as entrenched as I still kind of am. I have never really been able to hold a steady job, not that I didn't try with all of my might. And I am inching closer to 40 with no stable ground underneath me. If even two of the systems had been more informed, or better trained, perhaps I could be a lot further along and I know I have a lot to offer this world. I only share that because I know deep in my spirit that there are others out there that could use the help and future generations need to have access to the knowledge that has been hard fought for me. Here are a few of the systems I feel need reforming (Not a clue how, but I would like to start the conversation) ~ School Systems - I went to 13 different schools isolating me and making me purely dependent on a family I was unaware were sick ~ Hospitals - I went in multiple times with multiple injuries that were not at my hands. Because there was a history of self harm all of mine were labeled as such even when I begged to be heard that they weren't ~ Financial - This one is tricky as I am beginning to unpack in what was I was controlled and in what ways I was selfish; however I do believe one should be made to take a financial awareness class when filing bankruptcy. ~ Laws - I can't even begin to figure out how this one would be effective but there has to be a way to track coercive control in family and partnerships i.e. narcissistic ab*se (dunno if I have to edit that one here), vexatious litigants, stalking, and I am not sure what the term would be but taking advantage of one's mental illness. ~ Child Protective Services - I am 100000% aware how bogged down with terrible parents who do terrible things to their children that have a lasting physical effect this particular system is and why I and my children fell through this hole. Yet I believe there has got to be more attention on the silent kind of trauma, as it would lend itself to being preventative and maybe even eventually lightening the load of the workers.
