Small claims over job related defamation?

Location: Indiana I understand it is difficult to get a (or any, infact) court to recognize that defamation occurred, but I was wondering whether a small claims judge can reward me anything even if I win the case. (There would be no point for me to pursue this if judge cannot reward me anything). I believe I have a "tangible" monetary damage which is due to a false accusation from someone as that led to a termination from my job.
