Where should estate money go?

Location: Pennsylvania I have been getting conflicting information from multiple lawyers and am looking for some guidance. My sister, who was a single mother, passed away and I now have sole legal and physical custody of her child. I am also the executor of her estate. She had a will drawn up by an attorney but was not signed in time before her passing. I will be selling her home and my plan was to split the funds 50/50 between myself to help support her child and the other half going into a trust for her child. Those were her wishes. I have since been told all of the money must go into a her child’s name and i cannot touch it. If that is the case, that is fine. Obviously, being able to take some out to help care for the child’s needs now and before they turn 18 would be helpful but I want to make sure I dont get myself in any trouble. Can anyone help me understanding what my options are? Thank you in advance.
