Am I wasting my time on an age discrimination complaint

Location: Arkansas I interviewed recently for a job. I am 50 years old, and admittedly look at least that old, it's been a life full of both fun and hard times. During the interview, the hiring manager said he wasn't sure how to ask, then said something along the lnes of "Oh well, we don't have HR anyway". He then said the team was younger than him and sometimes he had trouble relating. I assured him that wouldn't be a problem. Cut to several days later and I am informed that the job went to someone else, that while they liked my resume they had someone who was a better "culture and team fit". I was also told I should bring more energy to the interview. This all seems to add up to me to a case of age discrimination. I have filed an enquiry with EEOC but I'm wondering if it is a waste of time.
