Fam member got subpoenaed to court

Location: Massachusetts It is a DV case she is the victim husband is the defendant. They are both married for 30+ years and still married. There isn’t a no contact order. They live together. She does not want to testify does she have to go to court to invoke marital privilege? Should she get her own lawyer? Any advice would be appreciated her English is not good and she is freaking out so wanted to ask.
