Ex fiancé and dog custody battle

Location: Kansas My ex and I have been sharing custody of our two dogs for almost a year. My ex let me know that he got a new job and is moving so we have to decide what to do with the dogs. Obviously I want to keep them both and he does as well. We bought both of them together. He told me that he has a bill of sale for the first dog because he is the one who went to get the dog as I was out of town but not the other dog. The dogs are under my name at the vet, I order their food/prescriptions, and they are licensed under my name with the city we live in. I am unsure what I can do to keep them both. My concern is him having the bill of sale of one of the dogs. He is okay with splitting them as well but I don’t want to split them as they are bonded pretty well. I’m not sure if there is anything I can do to keep them both. Just seeing if anyone has any advice.
