HOA contractor caused damage, recourse?

Location: Florida I’m looking to help my mom on this, before I send her to a lawyer. She lives in an HOA community in Florida. A sprinkler that the HOA manages was installed so it was spraying right on a window, it has been like this forever. The water has leaked inside and caused ~$15k worth of damage. A contractor that gave her this quote stated he would write that the sprinkler is what caused the damage. The worker from the sprinkler contractor stated that the sprinkler likely did the damage and he is now no longer employed. My mom was told “he no longer works here.” The bylaws state: Each owner hereby grants to the association, its duly authorized agents, employees, or independent contractors such easements for ingress and egress, across the Lots and through improvements constructed upon the Lots, as may be reasonably necessary to affect and perform exterior maintenance aforementioned. In addition…. . In such event, the Association shall indemnify the adjoining property owner for any damage or injury to the easement areas caused by the use thereof or access to perform the exterior maintenance” The house isn’t an easement area but their own contractors damaged my mom’s hhouse. The HOA has told her to go through her home owners insurance or to get a lawyer. What’s my best course of action? Just to fix it?
