Got scammed by cash car seller ;-;

First off I feel very ashamed and stupid already but I don’t know what to do…. So I’m kinda talking to people on Reddit since I’m alone and don’t know who ask. I found a car on FB marketplace that looked to be in my budget. Location: Colorado Denver $3800 I reached out the guy on Saturday asking if I could take a look and meet him and he said yes he’d be home all day I brought my dad with me to help since I had never done this. My dad told me he GOT the car fax and he was gonna help me run the vin. My dad said everything looked good. So I went and took it for a spin and found it was in good condition. They told me they owned the car for 8 years and it was there moms they drove it to Austin a few times and that’s why it had high mileage through the years. And what they had replaced and according to my dad it matched up on the carfax Only thing that needed replacing was the windshield and back brakes. Okay normal maintenance. No worries. That’s where it falls off, I ask them since it’s the weekend (Sunday ) if I can come back tomorrow (today) with cash if they’d sell it to me. And they said they thought I’d buy it today and others are coming to see it. So they offer I pay $1000 in cash I could get the title from them on Monday with the 2800. They said they had wanted the money to go fishing for the rest of the day. At the time I thought they seemed nice enough. So I said sure I gave them cash $1000 and would be back on Monday ( today) but as I’m driving home I find in the glove box in the manual a purchase receipt that says they actually bought the car a few months ago and it was for PARTS ONLY…. From my understanding when you buy a car parts only… you don’t get a title… So I fucked up. Turns out the car fax isn’t adding up. My dad didn’t actually help out at all I thought he RAN it himself he just read the one they sent him… if I had known that I would’ve just paid it my self I thought my dad was just being my DAD and helping me out. NO. And we didn’t find that paper until after we gave them money…. MY money. So my dad messaged them to meet us at the dmv but idk what that’s going to do I feel like this isn’t adding up and I got scammed $1000 ‍ idk what to do
