Advice please on possible wage theft

landlord tenant attorney Texas Aug 3, 2026
As the title states. I am a server in a Texas restaurant. There was an incident where my manager refunded a customer for a mistake that the kitchen made. However she blamed me and when she called the customer (credit card purchase), the customer took the partial refund offered, but declined removing the tip However, my manager stayed that I am not longer eligible for the tip because a mistake was made (even though it wasn't my mistake). We were extremely busy and honestly, I just "assumed" that the order was correct from the kitchen. I have only been there a little over a month. I am a ToGo person, not a server on the floor. I did read that this was illegal. Is it? If so, what should I do? Location: Texas
