How do I fight a smear campaign legally with no money?

I know my mother and her friends have been smearing my reputation, and there's likely a paper trail somewhere, but I don't know how to collect this evidence with no money for a PI or a lawyer. Are there organizations that would help me with this? Location: Ohio
