Air conditioner repair and lease termination

Location: Fort Worth Texas. I just started my lease mid month last month and my air conditioner is too old and doesn’t cool the apartment. They provided a portable a/c which is no help. I asked for an address to send a certified letter and they withheld it. I finally was able to look up the address on tarrant appraisal district and sent the letter asking for repair since the temps regularly are reaching 90 degrees plus. It’s passed the 7 day window Saturday so now I send the letter saying I’m terminating my lease and I’m moving out and they’re playing dumb. What do I do? And do I have an obligation to fulfill my lease because they provided a portable a/c?
