At just 29 years old, Taylor Rouse achieved a remarkable milestone by arguing before the Supreme Court of the United States—an honor that only a select few attorneys experience in their careers. In the landmark case Thacker v. Tennessee Valley Authority, the Court unanimously ruled in Taylor’s favor with a 9-0 decision. This victory not only granted his client the opportunity to pursue compensation for personal injuries but also redefined the tort liability of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a federally chartered corporation supplying electricity to millions of Americans. The ruling has far-reaching implications, safeguarding the lives and safety of citizens across the seven states where the TVA operates and reshaping the legal landscape for governmental entities engaged in commercial activities.. This case exemplifies Taylor’s dedication, perseverance, and unwavering belief that victims of personal injury and families affected by wrongful death deserve their day in court—even against the most formidable and resourceful opponents. Taylor’s creativity and tenacity ensure that ordinary people have a powerful advocate for their rights.. A Huntsville native, Taylor returned to his hometown after earning his degree from The University of Alabama School of Law. Since then, he has been steadfast in his commitment to serving the people of North Alabama. Taylor has successfully handled a wide range of cases, including car accidents, 18-wheeler collisions, premises liability claims, property damage disputes, insurance litigation, defective product cases, commercial litigation, contract breaches, and workplace injuries.. I have tried approximately 20 jury trials and I served as the lead counsel in a capital murder case that resulted in an acquital, said to be the first in the history of Morgan County.
