Location: Tucson, Arizona, United States. M family and I are in Tucson, Arizona, and we’re struggling to get help with a situation involving a construction company. My mother was a member/partner in the LLC. An amendment was filed to remove her, with an electronic signature in her name. She did not sign it or authorize anyone to sign for her. We believe someone falsified her signature to remove her from the company. There are also serious pay issues. I have evidence of repeated late payments, partial or missing payments, and bounced checks spanning roughly two years, involving both myself and many other workers. My own issues include unpaid overtime and approximately $6,000 in unreimbursed work expenses. Taxes were deducted from my checks, but I also have concerns about whether those deductions were properly reported and paid. My last day performing field work was July 3, 2026. After that, I attended a couple of meetings, which I recorded, where we were told work would start again in August. I waited until August and followed up. They told me they were “creating new opportunities” and would let me know when work started. As of October 8, I still haven’t received any notice to return to work. They told us the company was shutting down, but I know they have continued doing jobs. Location: Arizona, USA Working in occupational health contracted for a large construction site. Not employed by the company who is building on the site but for an agency that provides occupational health to work sites. Have worked for this company for about 3 years. Never once been told to park off site, seen anyone else park off site, always park where I’m told and it is where everyone else parks too. A few weeks ago it rained overnight. It is pitch black out when I get to work in the morning. There were no lights on outside the trailer. When I arrived, the safety officer told me where to park because it was so dark. Before I even got out of the car, the car slid because of the wet mud and collided with a concrete barricade and dented my door. This car is brand new to me, the first car I’ve bought myself, and I only had it for 2 weeks before this happened. I got 5 quotes from different body shops who all agree the door needs to be fully replaced due to the components in the door that were damaged (cameras and wiring and the metal bar that makes the shape of the door), all between $3-5k. I am an independent contractor (IC) with my own station/chair inside a shop that charges rent to several other ICs. The shop owner has their own station as well. I had been there for 8 months as an apprentice, but recently I transitioned to being my own business, which means paying a flat-rate rent or a percentage cut to the shop owner. I took some time to think about it, then decided that the work environment was too toxic and the shop owner had a different personality or mood each day. I did not want to stay. I picked a day to move out and went about getting my belongings. I called the shop owner beforehand, but as usual, they ignored my call. I have my own key to the shop and to the mailbox.
