Although it may sound very cliche, I'm passionate about representing my injured clients. Personal injury is the natural field for me because I'm a caretaker at heart and I love the law. Oh, and I love my beagle, Pedro.

Being an attorney is actually a second career for me. I originally received a Bachelors and Masters degree in clinical psychology and was eventually licensed as a Marriage and Family psyhotherapist. I practiced for 10 years and when I had a client that desperately needed legal help but could find none, I then decided I would switch careers and become a lawyer.. At age 36 I went back to law school and was fortunate to gain acceptance into Loyola Law School's presitigious evening program. At the time I was married with two very young daughters and needed to work full time during the day, while going to school at night. It was tough, but well worth it.. Later, another stroke of good fortune came my way when I was hired as a law clerk by a well known plaintiffs' personal injury firm in Santa Monica. I was trained by the very best lawyers in the business and I learned a great deal about how to win cases.. I went into private practice having passed the bar exam immediately after graduating from law school. My first case was a tough wrongful death trial in Riverside where a young mother was killed by a security guard at a major department store. We won that case for her 3 young children who survived her. That was back in 1997.. Since then I have been fighting for the little guy against big corporations, their insurance companies and their high priced lawyers. I am no stranger to the hard fight that almost always must happen before justice is served. I take pride in doing excellent work and standing by my clients all the way through trial and verdict. I love the law and I love that every one in a while, I get to be part of justice being done. It's a great feeling, I am good at it, and I wouldn't trade being a major injury/wrongful death lawyer for any other career.

I graduated UCLA Summa Cum Laude, and jumped into the business world. I have extensive business experience and truthfully, my business career was going great. I managed multi-million dollar projects all over California, overseeing Commercial Property Acquisition, Development, and Syndication. I have managed over 500 employees in my tenure, and have negotiated consistently with some of the largest companies.. When I was younger, my father passed away after suffering complications from a slip and fall accident. Unfortunately, his attorneys could not get him justice or proper treatment, and my heart broke witnessing the emotional and physical toll it took on my mom. The truth is, for many years, I had a different opinion of the law. Growing up, it felt like everyone won but my family. I will admit it, I had a chip on my shoulder. I buried my feelings on the law and instead threw myself into my business career.. What began to change my perspective happened a few years down the road. A kind, beloved woman by all, my brother’s in-law, was killed by a city garbage truck. She was going about her normal day, and the truck recklessly backed into her as she crossed the street. Even though there was a settlement, no amount of money can bring her back. I again was reminded of how much the insurance companies tried to get away with during the settlement process. Seeing how they tried to devalue her life and her worth became the wake-up call I needed to get into the legal profession.. I realized that there was a great purpose with the law and that I had the power to help others with it. This became my true calling and I set out onto my path. I enrolled in law school and did not look back. I passed Law School and the California State Bar while running a full-time business that employed many families, and in my practice, I have been able to combine my business negotiation skills with my legal knowledge.
