Stacy Votto graduated from the University of Delaware in 2001 and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Immediately upon graduating, she left for New York to attend Brooklyn Law School where she was admitted as a Richardson Scholar. In 2004, Stacy passed the bar admittance exams in both New York and Connecticut and began her legal career. Beginning in 2004, Stacy prosecuted abuse and neglect cases on behalf of the City of New York. Eventually, she decided to move back to her home state of Connecticut where she began work for a prominent New Haven law firm. She spent almost six years there until she decided to open the Law Office of Stacy Errante Votto, LLC in December 2010. At the beginning of 2014 she merged her practice and is now partner at Nelson|Votto, a general practice firm on Trumbull Street in New Haven.. Stacy Votto primarily handles matrimonial and family law matters including, but not limited to, marriage dissolutions, child custody and visitation disputes, civil restraining orders, domestic criminal proceedings, pre and post nuptial agreements, child protective matters, mediation and collaborative divorce. Stacy is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut, State of New York, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Her efforts have earned her the distinction of being named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine in 2009 -2014 and the Top 10 Attorney Award, under the age of 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys (NAFLA).. Stacy is also very active in the legal community. Stacy served as President of the New Haven Young Lawyers section of the New Haven County Bar Association and has served on various other committees in the New Haven and Connecticut Bar Associations. Stacy now serves on the Board of Directors of both the New Haven County Bar Association and its sister charitable organization, the Foundation of the New Haven County Bar. She was also recently appointed by the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch to serve a three year term on the Standing Committee on Recommendations for Admission to the Bar for New Haven County. She is certified by the State of Connecticut Commission of Child Protection to serve as a Guardian ad Litem and Attorney for Minor Children and serves a Special Master to mediate financial and custody disputes in dissolution actions pending in New Haven Superior Court. Stacy’s devotion and responsiveness to her clients along with her reputation in the legal community have grown her practice and given her the skill and experience needed to provide the highest quality legal services.
