My primary professional goal is to never forget the needs of my clients. Too often attorneys focus on the case, rather than the client. Although I have a passion for litigation, my greater passion is to serve my client well. Being creative, finding the resolution to the problem that escapes others, understanding the culture of my client and what they deem important enables me to distinuish my services from others

After graduating from Columbia with a major in Philosophy, I joined the Peace Corps and taught English for two years in Le Republique du Niger, the world's poorest country. I then completed a Masters of International Affairs at Columbia, a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, a J.D. at Cornell Law School and an LL.M. at New York Univeristy Law School. I clerked for two years for Chief Judge Jane Restani on the United States Court of International Trade and then clerked for one year for the Honorable Reynaldo Garza, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Chief Judge of the Temporary Emergency Court of Appeals (which has since merged with the Federal Circuit).. After a two year stint in private practice, I became an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department, where I was promoted to Associate Counsel.. After seven years at the New York City Law Department, I accepted a position at the United States Department of Justice and moved to Washington, D.C.. Though I have moved to D.C., I still enjoy raising money for the New York Philharmonic, the Museum of the City of New York, New York's Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Save Venice, Inc.. I represent individuals and businesses across the country in a variety of civil litigation disputes, mostly against large companies. My cases typically involve breach of contract, fraud, business tort, employment discrimination class actions, antitrust, consumer class actions, and other commercial litigation matters.. I grew up as the son of a government lawyer, and always admired my father for taking principled stands on behalf of the public. The idea of helping ensure that justice was done is a large part of what motivated me to go to law school. I spent some time as a federal government lawyer before moving to private practice, where I came to love the thrill of litigation, and the gratification that accompanies successful representation of my clients' interests.. I was born in Lawrence, Kansas, and am a proud fan of the Kansas Jayhawks. Between college and law school, I lectured at Chiang Mai University in Northern Thailand, where I attained fluency in Thai.
