Rob Teilhet received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He became an attorney to give a voice to those who may otherwise never be heard.. Admitted to the bar in 2000, Rob spent the first eight years of his career representing school districts, employers, and insurance companies in a wide range of matters across Georgia. Since 2008, he has practiced primarily in the area of personal injury and workers' compensation, representing people who have been hurt by the actions of another or on the job. These people are often denied the medical treatment and income to which they are entitled and need someone willing to fight for them and their families.. Mr. Teilhet also represented Smyrna and Marietta in the Georgia House of Representatives for four terms following his election in 2002 at the age of 28. In the legislature, he earned the respect of Democrats, Republicans and independents for his hard work, honesty, and integrity and served as Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus. He was a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which handled all legislation affecting the civil justice system. He also served as a member of the House Industrial Relations Committee, with jurisdiction over the state’s workers’ compensation system.. Following his legislative service, he was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to be Executive Director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, the state agency charged with ensuring the representation of indigent criminal defendants.. He has been named one of Georgia's Most Influential People by James Magazine, a "Star to Watch" by the National Journal's Hotline, one of Cobb County’s “20 Risings Stars Under 40” and one of The University of Georgia Alumni Association’s “40 under 40.”. Rob is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He has served as an adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law and is a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. He's a member of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2009.

Practice Areas: Workers Compensation
I have practiced law for almost 20 years although it does not seem that long. I have chosen my practice areas in indigent criminal defense, education law, and now workers' compensation because all have allowed me to work for an individual. I enjoy the connection with a live person for whom I can advocate. I like to get to know the person I respresent. My clients are more than mere case numbers. I am more effective if I can empathize with and understand the individuals for whom I argue.. Becoming a lawyer was never the ultimate goal. It has always been a means to an end. It is a way in which I can use my expertise to help people maneuver their way through an otherwise confusing and complicated legal system in order to invoke rights or request redress.. I spend my spare time with my husband and two energetic sons. We enjoy travelling the world together and exploring new places, but in many ways, every day is an adventure. There are very few dull moments in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
