Rob Teilhet received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He became an attorney to give a voice to those who may otherwise never be heard.. Admitted to the bar in 2000, Rob spent the first eight years of his career representing school districts, employers, and insurance companies in a wide range of matters across Georgia. Since 2008, he has practiced primarily in the area of personal injury and workers' compensation, representing people who have been hurt by the actions of another or on the job. These people are often denied the medical treatment and income to which they are entitled and need someone willing to fight for them and their families.. Mr. Teilhet also represented Smyrna and Marietta in the Georgia House of Representatives for four terms following his election in 2002 at the age of 28. In the legislature, he earned the respect of Democrats, Republicans and independents for his hard work, honesty, and integrity and served as Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus. He was a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which handled all legislation affecting the civil justice system. He also served as a member of the House Industrial Relations Committee, with jurisdiction over the state’s workers’ compensation system.. Following his legislative service, he was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to be Executive Director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, the state agency charged with ensuring the representation of indigent criminal defendants.. Rob is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He has served as an adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law and is a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.
