Location: Illinois A year ago I sought and was granted a 2-year plenary order of protection against an ex who sexually assaulted and stalked me. He did not abide by the OP, and now he's in jail facing many felony weapons charges (under IL law, it's a felony for him to possess weapons while subject to an order of protection.) Last year he represented himself for the order of protection hearings. Now, a full year after the final OP was granted, I received a notice of appearance that he just retained counsel to represent him on the order of protection case (he has a different attorney from a separate firm for the weapons charges.) The date to appeal the OP has long passed and it's much too early for me to request an extension of the OP. There are currently no pending motions regarding the OP; I thought it was settled a year ago. I'm guessing this is connected to his defense strategy for the weapons charges, but what could an attorney even do regarding the OP at this point? Would an attorney submit a notice of appearance for the OP if all they're doing is reviewing the case? Or are there legal mechanisms by which they can fight the order of protection I have in place, even a year after all the plenary hearing and deadline to appeal have passed?

Location: Illinois My ex-partner filed an $8k small claims lawsuit against me claiming he was "removed without a 30-day notice or eviction letter," lost access to personal/business property, and incurred costs for temporary lodging, travel, storage, moving, replacement, and alleged damaged/missing property. Here is the exact detailed timeline of events: Domestic Incident & EOP: He hit me, leading me to file a police report and obtain an Emergency Order of Protection (EOP). I stayed at my parents' house for several days while waiting for him to be served. Police Escort & Waiting in Parking Lot: I requested a police escort so I could safely regain access to my house. I waited in the parking lot with my dad for about two hours for the police to arrive. Ex Moving Belongings Multiple Times: While my dad and I waited in the lot, I personally saw my ex moving his personal belongings into his car (I assume someone alerted him about the police report). He loaded his car, left the property, and returned multiple times to load and leave with more belongings. He did this at least three times before officers arrived. Police Instructions: When the officers finally arrived, I informed them that he had just left again with a load of property and would be back because he hadn't gotten everything yet.
