During the University’s graduation ceremony, Laura was also honored as the recipient of the Caryl K. Smith Student Leader Chancellor Award. She then stayed in Lawrence to attend University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school, Laura served as the Student Direct for the Defender Project, a clinic which serves state and federal prisoners in appellate and post-conviction litigation. After receiving her law degree, Laura went on to earn an M.B.A. from Washburn University. She is thrilled to be back in her hometown serving the community.
