Lisa was born in Bangor, Maine, in 1960. Her family has lived in Bangor since the 1890s. She studied at the University of Maine and in Mexico City, Mexico. During her senior year in college, she worked for Olympia Snowe as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C. She graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 1988 and has been practicing at Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky, LLP since September 1988.
