Location: Michigan To preface this all. I am not in a custody battle as of writing this. The mother of my son and i have been broken up now for almost a year, have had a pretty good system of who gets him what days, but she has (in the heat of the moment) brought up that she will ask for custody of him mid-argument. Please bear with me, I will explain in better detail. And thank you for anyone who reads all of this. Ill try to keep this as short as possible while also giving all necessary info. My son is about to turn 2. His mom and I were together for 4 years, the last 2 of the years we were both noticeably unhappy. We got pregnant, I could never leave my child so I didnt bring up wanting to break up. Alottle after his 1 year is when we both mutually agreed to break up. It wasnt a screaming match, wasnt one walking in on the other cheating. It was a sit down and "I think we would be happier apart, and lets show our son 2 happy parents instead of 2 who are miserable and forcing themselves to stay with the other." She lives with her parents now and I live with mine. Since we broke up and moved out, I have had my son every week from Wednesday- Sunday. She gets him Sunday night through Wednesday mid day.
