Ashley is a graduate of Hartland Consolidated Schools, along with her siblings. She, her parents, and siblings still reside in Hartland Township, and are continued supporters of the numerous athletic programs within the District. While completing her undergraduate programs, Ashley was an employee of the District, as a coach for the Swim programs, as well as an involved role with the facilitation of athletic events.. Her Undergraduate studies were at University of Michigan-Flint, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, with a concentration in criminal sexual behavior. She has adopted several observational tools that have carried over into her ability to advocate for clients in several respects.. For Law School, Ashley attended Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School out of Lansing, MI with honors. A graduation Marshall, teacher’s assistant, graduate studies assistant, and executive member of Phi Delta Phi, Ashley maintained extensive involvement during her law school career. She was on in Law Review, where she worked to publish works in the Cooley Bar Journal. She was president of two student organizations, and was on the board for others. Ashley was a Mock Trial competitor and a member of the National Negotiation Team.. For two-years Ashley was in the Washtenaw County Public Defender office as an intern in the Felony Division, where she developed extensive skills in criminal matters. As an alumni, she continues to maintain the relationship she had fostering young legal minds, allowing students to shadow her, meeting with them about the bar exam, or just sharing her experiences.. Following law school, Ashley worked in a small firm after passing the 2020 Bar Exam. Her areas of expertise are criminal defense, but she is an aggressive attorney in Family law matters as well. Ashley will do what she can to protect clients from injustice. She advocates for the underdog, and often works to protect those who feel they are unable to protect themselves. Her personal experiences have led her to being a strong advocate for individuals with substance abuse issues. She has incredible insight into the rules of evidence and the case law behind the 4th amendment.. When not at the office, Ashley can be found playing the occasional video game, baking, reading, constructing large jigsaw puzzles, and conquering her bucket list. Recently, she has undertaken the goal of seeing every lighthouse on the shores of the State of Michigan. She spends any vacation time with her extensive, but closely-knit, family and will take fishing excursions with her Dad. Ashley is a self-professed Disney and Star Wars junkie, with an enthusiasm for the Moana film, one she watched on repeat while studying for the Bar.
